I saw this on Rhonna's Pinterest and instantly fell in love. I thought it would be perfect in our new bathroom- kind of a happy- waking up-getting out of the shower type of saying but it didn't really go with my color palette I wanted in there, so I remixed it into this happy little poster.

I ordered a 16 x 20 metallic print from Persnickety- which is awesome because they are printed with good old fashioned chemicals, not ink; so they are waterproof and won't get ruined no matter how steamy the bathroom gets.

I'm going to go to ikea this week and pick up this frame and paint it white to match my new cabinets that were just painted today

Interior Decorating

Tuesday, March 29, 2011

I've been working on a new project for the past few weeks-interior decorating for a friend! Today Braden & I spent the day painting, installing beadboard, hanging bright green curtains, installing trim, and hanging shelves. We're finishing up the work tomorrow but I wanted to share some ideas I had for her house

Bathroom Renovation: During

Saturday, March 26, 2011

Last night while we (we meaning Braden-I was filming) put up the beadboard in our bathroom, Olivia wanted to help Daddy. She also treated us all to a couple of stories.

Warning: This video is really long, but anyone who knows La La will think it's hilarious.

What my morning looked like

Friday, March 25, 2011

This is what I got to wake up to:

3 little monkeys in my bed.

But now I'm up bright and early to get to work on our quickie weekend rennovation project: Our horribly depressing Master Bathroom.

An innocent purchase of a new shower caddy ($9 at Ross) amazingly has snowballed into a full bathroom makeover (suggested by me, approved by Braden) and now with a budget of $150 (ish) we're going to try and make this awful space a little more tolerable. We're painting the walls this chalky grey

I gathered up a bunch of ideas via Pinterest yesterday

So now I'm sitting taking off cabinet doors while blogging spilling over with excitement. Can't wait to show you guys the finished product!

Inspiration to Creation: Project 1

inspired by

As most of you may know, I spend A LOT of time on the internet. My Pinterest alone is evidence of that. All day long I look at other people's blogs, websites, Etsy shops, Pinterests, and hoard hundreds of brilliant ideas. However, this is only good if I actually utilize these good ideas. So, I've vowed to actually create something from my Pinboards at least once a week to prove to myself (and my husband) that I am not in fact, wasting my life away on my laptop. I am actually performing research for all kinds of projects. Productive projects that will benefit all. Hoorah! For justification!

I'm very pleased to show you my first Inspiration to Creation Project!

My Inspiration was this beautiful Kate Spade shirt from my Style Pinboard. I've been wanting a top like this for a while, and after much deliberation, I decided it was the perfect start off project!

My shirt isn't exactly like it-it is not as long as I'd like and it's a tad tight around the boobs, and a tad circus tent-ish on bottom, but all in all- I'm pretty happy with it. At least now I know what to change around for the next one. And believe me, I'd like one of these in every color. I'm glad I went with the $7/yard stretch taffeta instead of the $24/yd silk that I was thinking about using. Maybe once my design is reworked to perfection, I'll splurge on the silk. But for now, this shirt works for me.

2nd day of Spring

Made using Rhonna's New Brushes

The birds are singing, the sun is shining, and I am panicking because swimsuit season is practically here in AZ

I have to 1) Get fit 2) Find some new swimwear 3) Get fit STAT.

I'm liking these:

In general, I didn't find a whole bunch of swimwear I loved this year. Has anyone seen anything to die for cute anywhere?

As far as getting fit goes, my mom & dad found these workouts on Youtube. Warning: The girl is totally stripperish, but her workouts are legit and nothing make you want to be thinner and fitter more than some Russian bikini model.

Happy Birthday Evelyn & Georgia

Wednesday, March 16, 2011

Welllll......turns out the pictures from the twins birthday didn't....turn out. :( So I'll have to post some new photos and some recipes later this week. Crap.

But I was so busy getting their Ice Cream Social Ready, I didn't take the time to post about their birthday- so I'll do that now

First off, I can't believe how fast time has flown by. It seems like only a month ago I was in the hospital getting ready to have these little bitties. Now they're one and there really aren't words to express how much I love those sweet faces.

They are two peas in a pod, always together. It makes everything twice as crazy, but also twice as fun.

I never thought I'd have twins (and I was under no illusions about how much work they are), but I couldn't imagine our lives without our sweet Evelyn & Georgia and I am so incredibly thankful that we were blessed with them.

SPRING BREEEEEEEAAAAAAAAK!!!!!!!!!!

Tuesday, March 15, 2011

I know I'm not in college anymore, but there's something about Spring Break that just makes me so so happy. Instead of beaches and drunk people, now its Spring Cleaning and re-organization and swimsuited children. Woot woot! Party!

My computer went on the fritz and I just got it back today so there's lots o stuff I have to share with ya'll but for now just bear with me and love on my Pinterest finds, since there so wonderfully instant!

Tutorial Tuesday- Ruffled Party Streamers

Tuesday, March 8, 2011

When I went searching for ideas for the twins party I came across How Does She who threw her own twin girls a party based on the Eat Drink Chic Ice Cream Parlour

My favorite part about her party was the ruffled pink & white striped background she used- it looks sooooo cute.

Lucky for me she has a tutorial for it! Hip Hip Hooray! Now you must excuse me, because I have to sew a ton of crepe paper.....

Inspiration Monday: Eat Drink Chic

Monday, March 7, 2011

Ok, so this week is another whirlwind one. I have a little girls wedding dress to make, curtains to sew, thank you notes to design and on top of all that- the Twins are turning ONE on the 11th & 12th! Ay chihuaua, now I have to bust out an amazing party to boot. Sooooo, I turned to one of my favorite blogs for inspiration- Eat Drink Chic

This lady is so talented and I have loved her Ice Cream Parlour idea for so long. I decided to throw the twins an Ice Cream Social First Birthday Party for our family (it's at my house which is bite-sized so we had to limit the guest list to just fam. I want a bigger house.)

These are the invites I sent out (today- I'm the WORST procrastinator) and I have all kinds of details to share and a tutorial tomorrow! Come back to see all the pretties!
